Industry First! HiTHIUM Completes World’s First All Open-Door Large-Scale Fire Test

Created on 06.03
Introduction
As the deployment of large-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) accelerates globally, thermal runaway and fire safety have become paramount concerns. Traditional closed-door testing is no longer enough to simulate the most extreme real-world scenarios. On June 5, 2025, in Xiamen, China, HiTHIUM, a leading global energy storage technology company, successfully completed the world’s first "all open-door" large-scale fire test on its ∞Block 5MWh BESS, setting a pioneering benchmark for safety validation. Four Ultimate Challenges: Redefining True "Absolute Safety"
0
This test abandoned controlled formulas and pushed the system to its absolute limits under four ruthless survival challenges:
  1. All Open-Door Combustion: The container doors remained fully open throughout the test, creating an unrestrained combustion environment with intensified oxygen flow. This was far more severe and unpredictable than traditional closed-door scenarios.
  2. Dual 15cm Extreme Spacing: The BESS units were placed side-by-side and back-to-back with a mere 15cm spacing. Despite roaring flames exceeding 1300°C, no thermal propagation occurred, proving highly effective close-range isolation.
  3. Fire Suppression System Deactivated: All active fire suppression systems were intentionally deactivated. The system relied solely on its internal passive fire protection design to withstand prolonged, intense fire, demonstrating autonomous fire resistance and ultimate reliability. The Impact

HiTHIUM’s groundbreaking test not only demonstrates the inherent safety of its products under catastrophic conditions but also injects massive confidence into the global transition toward sustainable energy. Choosing HiTHIUM means choosing top-tier safety that fears no fire.
